Danae Festival’s 25th anniversary is marked by the significant return of the dancer and choreographer Paola Bianchi – who opened its first edition in 1999 – with two projects. A fixture of the contemporary dance scene since the late 80s, she has never let fashions and rhetoric entrap her in their coils, while firmly and steadily claiming the political value of the dancing body. FABRICA delves into the mnemonic-corporeal archives of male and female workers of different generations, a survey on working bodies. Bodies act and suffer, bodies transform. And the survey focuses on this very transformation. Gestures repeated for years creep into the folds of muscles, tendons, bones; work leaves a trace on a whole life’s body and soul. The capital modifies the body through work, educates it, disciplines it according to a process of subjection to capital itself.
In this edition Paola Bianchi presents two legs of this project. One was made in Vicenza and the other one in Genova, with the cities’ post code and the name appearing in the title. 

5:00PM – FABRICA 36100 [ Vicenza ]
FABRICA 36100 [ Vicenza ] is the result of a residency at Caracol Olol Jackson in Vicenza, a place open to sharing, a precious place in this time of isolation.
The meeting with the bodies and places of the industrial past and present of the Vicenza area, the interviews, the exploration of both abandoned sites and technologically developing factories in full swing have created new states of the body. 

6:00PM – FABRICA 16100 [ Genova ] 
FABRICA 16100 [ Genova ] looks deep into the working story of Luciana who for a decade has worked on the assembly line of Tubettificio Ligure, a long closed state-controlled factory producing primary and secondary aluminium. Her personal story intertwine with those of the other female workers of her women-only department, in a factory where only one woman used to sit among the works committee’s male representatives. Luciana speaks, and her words enter the body, enter the space, and shatter it into sectors. A fragmented body dramaturgy, interrupted and connected by spatial movements. A muscular, tendinous, skeletal narration, a continuous swinging between micro and macro, between detailed and overall vision.
