Antonio Tagliarini, actor, dancer, author and director, in 2007 started an intense artistic collaboration with Daria Deflorian. Together they won several awards both in Italy and abroad, among which the 2021 Premio Hystrio for dramaturgy and the 2014 Premio Ubu for best new dramaturgy. Given his life-long passion for plants, he decided to take on a learning journey at the Milan’s school of “Landscape and Garden Design”: his studies inspired Pairadaëza, from the Greek παράδεισος, «garden, park», a place where to create a different future, a form of political and existential resistance.
Antonio Tagliarini enters the gardens of Villa Mirabello and starts imagining, dreaming: he reshapes its paths, redesigns its functions, chooses new arboreal and herbaceous species. He looks at, studies and projects it: he transforms it. After all, to dream a change is the only thing that, luckily, no one can take from us, not even the fiercest of tyrants. The performer, as if he were the villa’s gardener, will escort the audience while telling about his garden, his paradise, where reality and imagination co-exist, overlap, substantiate one another.
